I'm Doing it Wrong
A story about living with the fun police.
Holy. What a Week. This starting school stuff is tiring. I'm ready for a day off!
To end out the week I got another needle in my eye - because that's always fun. (spoiler alert: my eyesight is getting a little worse)
I can't believe that it's she's only been to school for 3 days this week because OMG it seems much longer! Holy. It has seemed extraordinarily busy this week.
The Laptop
I went to use my Dell laptop last night only to find that the seams were spreading. This is usually due to a defective and swelling battery. It was late when I noticed this and so I thought that was the case and in the morning I called Dell only to find that the battery is only warrantied for a year.
They just replaced the battery on this thing on July 17th as the original was toast when I bought it new but apparently the warranty only applies to the battery. Odd, but OK. So, I bought a new battery only to find out later upon closer inspection that the battery is fine. The tech didn't put the bottom back on properly.
I now have a battery on order I don't need.
The Ball Game
As I mentioned yesterday, we played baseball. So tonight we were out in the front yard like were but this time BW as there watching us play. Then asks me "Where did you learn to swing a bat?" Um...probably never. Short Story: I'm doing it wrong - something about having to raise my elbow or something...I dunno. I just ignored her because prior to our unsolicited lesson we were having fun!
This reminded me of one of her books we like to read : Watch me throw the ball by Mo Willems.
The child won BTW 3-1. I think it's my technique.

The Tent
She wanted so bad to sleep in the tent. For whatever reason she does not like the actual bed and prefers "beds" on floors more. The rule is that on school nights you're in the bed but on the weekends - eh, whatever.
She had been looking forward to this all week but now that it wasn't a school night it was actually doable. One good thing about this higher education thing is that she's exhausted by 7pm. And if we can catch her before it goes sideways we can get her settled down and actually asleep at a good time.
Tonight we won:
