Still Wet
Today could be the end of our plumbing woes
The Sewer
As I write this, it's 12:45 pm and I still have no solution to my plumbing problems. The guys showed up and told BW that it was all good and nothing was wrong. I told her that hang on, I will be home in 10 minutes and not to let them leave.
At first, they said that they did the work and argued with me that there was nothing wrong, but they needed a camera to see down the pipe, and of course the pipe they had was broken. 😦
Once the camera was here then the real work was happening because: big surprise they found something and the backhoe came off the truck and they started digging near the street.
They have been in that hole for 4+ hours so far. There have been 2 other trucks come and go over time and the drivers stopped to look down the hole, talk a bit and then leave.
They have to be close to being finished. They tried to show me videos about how it's not their fault, because of tree roots but we just want to be able to shower without the basement flooding at this point.
9:00 pm update: NO more leaking and we are showered! We may be finally done this fiasco. I am not sure I would recommend this provider again though. I waiting to calm down before I leave a google review
The Child
She was up too late last night. We lost Don. Don is (or was) a binkie elephant that we named Donald Trunk not because we're fans but because he's an elephant. This Don is actually more useful than the Don currently running to be President. At least our Don isn't a felon
We have lost Don before and the Dog has eaten at least 2 others so I think that this is actually Don IV. Anyway. because my eyesight kind of sucks I got a flashlight so we could search her bedroom. She claimed she had no idea where he was and that I needed to look. It was getting late and she needed to be in bed. We needed to find Don.
She's been doing this thing where every stuffed animal has been going to bed and has to have a blanket on it:
I looked and didn't see Don under any blankets or clothes. Many other stuffed animals were tucked in for the night - but no Don.
Then finally she realized that she had tucked Don in under a blanket in a small felt box she has that I assumed was just full of random kid stuff and Don would not be there.
Today's lesson: She's sneaky. She didn't want to go to bed so she created the "I lost Don" scenario so she wouldn't have to go to bed until found. I have to give her credit. It was an excellent stall tactic. 🙄
When she came home from school today she wanted to revisit her Peppa Pig Collection. I had it hidden downstairs but she found it and then she had to play with it because what's old is new again.
I was in charge of hosting the picnic:
I think I did a fine job.
