When Quiet is Never a Good Thing
It sure got smelly in here suddenly
After dinner, she was told to go and put her pajamas on so we can start the bedtime routine. She's been getting up at like 6am lately so when it's 6pm it means it's bedtime! Yay for Dad!
Tonight she went upstairs and what we thought she was doing was putting on pajamas as she was told, so we can do the bedtime routine with a book and some general goofing around.
Then I realized that wow it's really quiet up there. Potential parents: pro tip - this is never never a good thing. If your child is awfully quiet, then they are up to no good. Take tonight for example:
I went to go upstairs to see what's going on and then about halfway up I get walloped with a very strong, very very strong smell of perfume. It was hideous the smell. I thought I was going to pass out.
I found her stripped down to her undies giving all her teddy bears a bath with perfume. Those poor bears were doused in the stuff!
You see, earlier this summer she was given a gift of perfume for kids (who thinks this is good idea?) and we have already had a few incidents where I have walked upstairs with a wall of perfume hit me right between the eyes.
I can be partially to blame for this. The other night I told her that at my fancy "sleep hotel" they had a little spray you were supposed to spray on the pillow at night to help you go to sleep. So last night, we were more frugal with our squirts and gave 2 quick sprays on her pillow of her perfume. Still stinky, but whatever. It was manageable.
Not tonight. We might be aired out by spring.
I had to repo the perfume away from my little teddy bear bather and explain to her that we don't spray teddy bears until they are water-logged with perfume (perfume-logged?). She seemed okay with this and despite the odor wafting in her room we managed to get her dressed and in the bed and here I am banging out another award-winning post.
Every day I drive around and wonder what I am going to write about and then I come home and find inspiration in the form of my family.. 🙄
Also, she learned all the words to Last Christmas while on the school bus today:
'Tis the Season,
TH and Co.
