Halloween Eve
I don't think she could be more excited.
As soon as she got off the bus she had to tell me about the problem of the moment:
She would not be able to get on the bus wearing a big over sized avocado costume. She was right, she would not: She can't even see her feet.
She then told me that I would have to take her to school in the morning and then, and only then could I continue to start my day. Halloween trumps all. Always.
She's going to have Halloween at school and she told me all about it and how they are going trick or treating from class to class and they are going to have more candy!
There is one problem though:
See that bullet point up above where it states that they have to wear a costume you can get out of if they need to use the restroom? Ha! I had a chuckle when I saw that as we were not thinking about that when we bought it that's for sure. I hope it all works out for her. I would not be surprised if she's out of the costume once the hallway trick or treating is done.
Later in the evening it was imperative that we get all the candy ready, because, you know - just in case. BW was worried we would not have enough candy but if we run out I will just shut the door because by the time that happens it will be just the bigger kids anyway so I won't feel to bad if they get hosed.
Lastly, there was some concern about the lack of pumpkin shaped tubs to go trick or treating in. Currently, we have two: One holds the candy she got from the trunk or treat earlier (there's still loads - we could pretty much skip Halloween) and one holds the candy that we are ready to give out.
She somehow figured that wasn't enough buckets and we need more buckets. I tried to tell her we could just use one of the buckets we already have but she was having none of it tonight, so I just let it slide. Tomorrow, she will be so excited she won't care what I give her to collect the candy. I could (and might) give her a pillowcase and she'll probably be okay with it.
Lastly, our neighbor across the street has handed out humongous full sized chocolate bars for the past 2 years and we're counting on it again this year. She better not disappoint us. 🎃
Trick or Treat,
TH and Co.
